NASC Meeting for July 30, 2009

Business:
Sheila reported that the avatar upload does not work on the website.  J.C. will report it to Arthur.

Mark heard from Jim Miller, he hasn’t received a check.  Dave should put check in the mail.

The Nature Conservancy wants Mark to speak at a board meeting re: opening up a site in Boiling Springs Lake to hunters. They will vote whether to make it gameland or not. Jonathan commented that it would be a good thing that the land will be used – more awareness.
Forms for growing should be uploaded showing J. C. as the contact.

J. C. sent a request to the Board re: Ryan Kitko – treatment of NASC plants with insecticide. Insecticides will be investigated.  The plants will not be used for re-introduction.

Mark will be meeting Crystal from Terraforums; will ask if she wants to be a grower.  Sent Suzanne pictures for her letter from Steph to security co’s.  Haven’t been able to contact golf course yet.

Discussed tags, will go for 5 inch ones; colour depending on the original tag’s colour.

Will be sending the DVD money to Jim Miller.

Dave will not be able to attend next week’s meeting.  Reported new international members.  Haven’t heard from Phil.

Mark has heard back from Jim.

Arthur updated the website with auction donors.

Jonathan is working on the newsletter.

Suzanne will put an email together for equipment requests for Steph.  Working on updating the Newsletter logo.

Jonathan nominated Sheila Stewart for the position of NASC Secretary.  Arthur seconded the motion.  Passes without contest.  Arthur will link the NASC Secretary email address to Sheila.

Suzanne has looked for plant tags online.  Didn’t find something satisfactory.  Will contact JC, Billy, Mike regarding NASC plant inventory.
